If you planning a trip to Costa Rica it will help to have some ideas on how to travel there. There are some packing, safety and security issues you should consider.

First of all everyone must have a valid passport that will not expire for at least six months to enter Costa Rica. When you are in Costa Rica make sure you carry a photocopy of your travel documents in case you need to identify yourself. But, keep the originals in your hotel room safety box or in the hotel safe. If you do lose your passport, contact your country’s embassy or consulate.

The weather may be different than it is at your home. First of all you will want to dress in layers. The temperatures can vary so you will want to be able to add or remove layers. Remember to always wear sunscreen. Costa Rica is close to the equator the sun so you skin will burn more than it may at home. You may want to bring a small umbrella because rain may develop suddenly. If you plan travel to the m mountain areas make sure you pack warm clothing. Even though it is a tropical area the temperature go lower mountain areas. Most hotels do not have heat.
